Season 2,3,4

(November 4, 2018- May 18, 2019)

Choir is a exceptional musically stimulating singing
opportunity open to all students in Grades 6-12. There are no scary
auditions; everyone is warmly welcome!

Together we learn more challenging but exciting accompanied and Acapella songs in up to 4-part harmony in styles that range from Contemporary/Pop, and Rock to more classic traditional choral music in a wide range of languages and world styles. Choir allows students who love to sing collaborate in a fun, focused and encouraging environment to prepare for exciting performance opportunities in and beyond school.

Now in its 15th year, the annual TAISM Festival of Choirs in Ghala, Oman is an internationally renowned festival that has seen dozens of schools and nationalities come together, shared in heart and song. During this time, participants are engaged in rigorous rehearsals – polishing preparations made at their schools in the weeks leading up to the festival. Singers learn about endurance, voice care, and choral excellence. This year the festival will be under the direction of special guest conductor Dr. Nicole Lamartine from the University of Wyoming, USA.

TAISM Festival of Choirs is an outstanding example of how schools can foster globally conscious life-long learners through a standard of excellence in choral music education as it emphasizes quality music- making and whole-heartedly builds friendships, trust, and compassion around the globe. Previous students who represented ABA at the Festival
were enriched and inspired and talked about it for months after!

The other advantages of the festival is that it is more affordable because there are n visa and travel costs
involved. It is held over the weekend of Friday 16th and Saturday 17th March
2018 so that students do not miss any precious school time. We have the possibility of taking more than the 8 choral students
we are limited to when attending MESAC Arts.
